Food Banks, Pantries & Programs

Our five counties (Columbia, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder, Union) house nearly 30,000 people who receive SNAP (food stamp) benefits. Many other families are on the verge of poverty, but are not eligible for federal or state programs. The Valley’s food banks and other nutrition aid programs are feeling overwhelmed, but they do an amazing job of helping feed the hungry here.

This is a list of all the hunger-relief programs we know about in the Central Susquehanna Valley.  We hope you consider donating generously to your local food bank and pantry, or maybe you can help serve a meal at one of the regular programs held at area churches.

We hope that every religious and social group will endeavor to see that the shelves are full at their town’s food bank or pantry. Most need not only food and money, but also your time. Every religious tradition has a mandate to feed and care for the hungry.

If you know of a program that is not listed here yet, please click here [link to webform] to send us the information. We will make sure they are included.
